Thin Client Praim

Announcing new support for Citrix XenApp,
Citrix XenDesktop and VMware VDM 2.1

Server virtualization is becoming an increasingly popular solution for providing remote desktop access in enterprise environments. Benefits include easier backup and configuration, better use of computing resources, and access to enterprise applications from any location.

Desktop Virtualization (VDI): the IT world has taken a keen interest in Virtual Desktop Infrastructure and the most important worldwide brands in this environment (Citrix, VMware) have responded by offering Enterprise solutions.

The workstation, is the physical element, real and indispensable, and it must provide the user with an interface for easily and securely accessing enterprise applications, regardless of the underlying server configuration.

The direction is clear, a reliable/secure/manageable workstation cannot be delivered using a traditional Personal Computer. It has to be realized with an embedded terminal device designed for  professional use: The Thin Client.

In this specific area Praim is highly competent, as a market leader developing Thin Client terminals to access Enterprise systems, demonstrating its ongoing commitment to support major market players that are investing in these emerging architectures.

Citrix XenDesktop and XenApp support

All Praim Thin Clients now integrate support of the new Citrix Presentation Server, released as Citrix XenApp 5.0.

Furthermore our Linux models offer the new Citrix XenDesktop client, to access virtual desktops in a Citrix VDI architecture.

VMware Virtual Desktop Manager 2.1 support

All Praim Thin Clients integrate support for  VMware Virtual Desktop  Manager 2.1, to access virtual desktops in a VMware VDI architecture.

All of Praim Thin Clients models based on Linux, Windows CE, and Windows XP Embedded have passed the VMware certification, obtaining the VMware Ready Certification.

The support to VDI architectures is available in all 3 main Praim by Praim Thin Client product lines: ino, Compact and Ultra for a total of fifteens models.

Virtual
Desktop
Infrastructure

VDI is the acronym for an architectural concept that uses centralization of PCs in a virtualized environment and provides remote Graphical access to these PCs.

The physical workstation becomes a thin client terminal that accesses a service called a Connection Broker, which is in charge of managing virtual desktop states and assigning them to users based on administrator policies.

Praim by Praim Thin Clients support all the most commonly used Connection Broker services available in the market, eg:

Citrix XenDesktop

 Ericom WebConnect
Leostream

 Provision Networks

VMware VDM2.1
