the new ThinOX™
version 8.0.18 including
the VMware View 3.1 client with native MMR and
USB support

on all Thin Client XT models.
Trento -Italy, June 22 2009 – With the announcement of the new series of Thin
Client ino900, Praim also announces the release of the ThinOX version V8.00.18 for all
XT models

Praim ThinOX V8.00.18 includes the following main innovation:
VMware View 3.1 Client
with the choice of two different support options: the native
client developed by VMware and the client developed by Praim
based on the VMware API.
The new VMware View Linux
native client V 3.1.0-169073
has been included as well as the new
updated version of the Praim native client.
In addition to the VMware View 3.1
client, two important
features are now available as part of the new
client:
USB redirection
support by VMware.
Allows you to re-direct the USB ports of the
Thin Clients connected through VMware View
to the Virtual Desktop. This allows you to connect
virtually all USB devices to the Thin Client
and have them be recognized as local devices on the virtual desktop.
MMR
(Multi Media Redirection) support by
VMware. The specific MMR feature offered by the
View server allows you to perform specific streaming media directly on the Thin Client.
In this way, the thin client locally decodes the multimedia
content improving the quality compared to the standard RDP protocol.
The following codecs are provided with a specific Codec
License Add-on:
WMA (stereo), WMV, MMS, H264, AAC (stereo), MPEG4, MPEG2.
USB
redirection support by Praim.
This support has been entirely developed by Praim.
As the native VMware support, it allows you to
re-direct the USB ports of the Thin Clients
connected through VMware View to the Virtual
Desktop. This allows you to connect
virtually all USB devices to the
Thin Client
and have them be recognized as local devices on the virtual desktop.
Support for
Smart Card and Digital Signing.
ThinOX V8 has been certified in the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environment
and Terminal Server using Smart Card for authentication and
Digital Signing
with the most common applications used in Italy, such
as the Windows Smart Card strong User Authentication.
Aladdin eToken PRO
strong User Authentication Praim ThinOX V8 also includes support for the Aladdin eToken PRO
Strong User Authentication. This is a very well known
alternative
to the standard Smart Card solution as
secure authentication of the user in remote
connection, even in the VDI architecture.
High integration with the Praim Remote Management
software and the Virtual Desktop All Praim Thin Clients based on the ThinOX V8
operating systemcan be fully managed by the
Praim's state-of-the-art Remote
Management software known as
ThinMan.
Furthermore, by installing the unique
Praim TCe
Virtual Desktop Agent
you can remotely manage
both the Thin Client (EndPoint) and the Virtual
Desktop within the same interface and have the
access to all the information you may need of the
Virtual Desktop associated to the EndPoint.
