The financial and technology advantages of this new virtualised world spread quickly in the new millennia, exponentially increasing its adoption worldwide. Resources and applications can now be accessed at any time, from anywhere and from any device. This new era has brought a great deal of innovation as well as a plethora of new challenges.
Although these challenges can be found in both the consumer and business markets, the following article aims at investigating the latter.

The article will address these challenges and provide a solution to deal with the increase of heterogeneity of endpoint devices.
Productivity and CAPEX in BYOD assume an important role when it comes to maximizing a company’s revenues and costs. Variables like attention and focus are highly related to productivity as they immediately interfere with an employee’s output. In today’s world, most of our tasks are fulfilled by means of laptops or PC, therefore attention and focus are strictly related to the use of such devices. Using your own device is potentially full of distractions which are out of the company’s control. Data and applications are customised for your own use and not serving the company purpose. Distraction is inversely proportional to employee and company’s productivity.
What about CAPEX? By taking your own device capital expenditure decreases. Companies spend less money on equipment and the learning curve for new employees to organisations specific technologies disappear or flatten. Conversely, the increase in the amount of heterogenous devices within the organisation generates new challenges for IT administrator.
