{"id":18809,"date":"2023-05-24T14:00:49","date_gmt":"2023-05-24T12:00:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.praim.com\/?p=18809"},"modified":"2023-05-30T11:34:51","modified_gmt":"2023-05-30T09:34:51","slug":"a-beginners-guide-on-how-to-update-praim-software-and-firmware","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.praim.com\/en\/news\/a-beginners-guide-on-how-to-update-praim-software-and-firmware\/","title":{"rendered":"A beginner\u2019s guide on how to update Praim software and firmware"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After covering basic topics on thin clients and Praim software solutions for connecting to VDI environments, in this new article of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.praim.com\/en\/?s=praim4beginners\">#Praim4Beginners<\/a> we\u2019ll focus on the sometimes thorny issue of <strong>software and firmware updates.<\/strong> So, let&#8217;s see what, how and why to update.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"Praim4Beginners-Updatesoftwareefirmware-Basics\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Basics<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">First of all, it\u2019s good to know that all updates, software and firmware are<strong> available in the <a href=\"https:\/\/my.cloud.praim.com\/\">MyPraim<\/a> area, in the <em>Products &gt; Download<\/em> section<\/strong>, these updates are distributed via the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.praim.com\/en\/solutions\/software\/thinman\/\">ThinMan<\/a> <\/strong>centralized management console. So, to be able to proceed with this action, it will be necessary to have this console and full access to MyPraim.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"Praim4Beginners-Updatesoftwareefirmware-Whyupdate\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Why update<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>The ThinMan management console is the only means <\/strong>capable of correctly and efficiently applying all updates, firstly verifying their presence and feasibility and notifying the user when a more recent version is available for download and installation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">When a new update is available, <strong>it will be possible to download it directly from the MyPraim area<\/strong>, both based on the device type (as in the case of ThinOX, for example) and on the application type (Agile, for example).
