Are there a way to change the name of thin clients by a profile? But everyone with a different name…
If I leave blank the “Terminal Name” on the configuration settings on the profile, all the thin clients get a XT_6lastmacdigits
If I put anything on “terminal name” on a profile, all the machines with this profile has the same name. I want to put (for expample)
mimachine_6lasmacdigits, where 6lastmacdigits are differents because are the 6 last digits from the mac address
Are there any way to do it?
Hi Departamento Sistemas,
currently is not possible to do that.
What do you say succeed when you use the Policy and if you don’t flag the “Maintain Network Settings” in the properties of the policy. Remind that enabling the flag will maintain the hostname assigned to the thin client, so it will not be reset by the policy. Is the policy configured in this way?
Remind also that you can configure the DHCP server, if it is used to assign IP Address to thin clients, to assign also hostnames to the thin clients using a reservation made by MAC Address.
Hope this will answer your question and let me know if the answer helped you.
