The new version 13 of the ThinOX operating system sees its evolution to align with the 2024 distributions.

Developed by Praim and based on Linux technology, ThinOX is the minimal and protected operating system distributed on Praim thin clients or, in the ThinOX4PC version, installable on PCs, laptops and other hardware from any manufacturer, also usable in live version from USB to make devices secure and fully manageable.

The transition to version 13 marks an important evolution, as it enables the use of ThinOX on the latest hardware platforms and optimizes it for interaction with modern IT infrastructures, especially those developed to access Virtual and/or Cloud Desktops or Applications. In fact, ThinOX integrates the new generation of Linux kernels, capable of both supporting the latest hardware and peripherals, and ensuring compatibility and efficiency in the use of the latest VDI technologies access clients offered by global technology players such as Microsoft, Citrix, Omnissa (formerly VMware) and many others.

The new ThinOX version marks a further improvement and strengthening of all the security properties that already define this operating system as an ideal solution for high protection criteria use cases, as it’s minimal and write-protected. These properties, together with the versatility of use, such as the enhancement of video configuration on multi-monitor workstations, makes ThinOX also suitable for modern use cases in the most demanding contexts (design, finance, …). Furthermore, ThinOX stands out for its ability to best support (both end users and IT managers) remote or hybrid working, even in a virtualization context, integrating the main optimizations designed for collaboration through video-conferencing tools.

Version 13 represents the most recent evolution of the ThinOX base system and also includes the integration of Citrix Workspace App to version 2405 and Omnissa Horizon to version 2406, in both cases the clients are optimized for Microsoft Teams and Zoom. In addition, the most recent versions of the Parallels and UDS clients and the most advanced releases of FreeRDP are also integrated, which also allow connection to Microsoft AVD resources with EntraID.

The new release of Praim ThinOX operating system responds to the growing need for compatibility with the latest CPU generations, offering optimal performance, efficiency and security, essential requirements for companies that adopt our solutions,” says Stefano Bonmassar, Chief Sales Officer at Praim. “Our commitment focuses on the implementation of lightweight and high-performance solutions, designed to simplify IT management and offer a secure and flexible user experience in any context. We are excited about the evolution brought by ThinOX 13, which allows us to propose a cutting-edge solution in a market in constant technological evolution”.
