Both companies experienced a quicker deployment which translated into less down times for the factories and the users as well as an improved overall IT efficiency.

Goal

Replace the 50 old thin clients, lacking dual screen option, with new, high-performance and optimized ones, and migrate the centralized Terminal Server infrastructure to the new VDI technology. All of this, for the Group’s 5 factories.

Challenge

The old Terminal Server environment limitated the previous infrastructure and the daily need for flexibility and high performance of the users. The lack of dual screen capabilities of the thin clients the Group was using affected the user experience as well as increased IT costs and management and maintenance time expenditure.

Solution

With the help of Cutter Group, one of the world’s leading suppliers of virtualised computing solutions and Praim Premier Partner, Jablite and Styropack implemented VMware Horizon 6.0 with latest Windows 10 virtual desktops and Praim P9002e Teradici devices.

Results

The adoption of zero clients brought a lot of benefits to the Group: a big reduction in the operating costs and in maintenance costs, as well as an increase in sustainability and flexibility over the entire environment. Thanks to simpler deployment and configuration requirements, then, both companies experienced less down times.
